Yaz Heart Attack

Yaz HeaYaz Heart Attackrt Attack

For several years now there has been growing concern about the Yaz heart attack risk, as new research shows patients who took the drug face a considerably higher likelihood of a heart attack than women who have never used this oral contraceptive. In addition to Yaz heart attack, other side effects linked to taking Yaz may include Yaz heart palpitations, Yaz heart murmur, as well as other Yaz heart attack symptoms.

The link is due to one of  two hormones in Yaz known as drospirenone, which leads to increased potassium levels in your blood, a condition known as  hyperkalemia. Hyperkalemia has been linked to a number of cardiovascular problems, such as cardiac arrest and abnormal heart rhythms that may result in Yaz heart problems of diverse intensity.

Since Yaz heart attacks can be life threatening and sufferers often require extensive treatment, the quicker the patient gets help, the better their survival chances. Some Yaz heart attack symptoms include:

Yaz heart murmur

Uncontrolled heart beat

Dizziness

Heartburn

Chest pain or pressure

Pain in the neck, shoulder, jaw or upper back

Feelings of overwhelming anxiety

Unexplained nervousness

Fainting

Constricted chest

Stomach pains

Sudden exhaustion

Loss of balance

Sweating

Obesity

Nausea and/or vomiting

Shortness of breath

If you are currently taking or have ever taken Yaz and experience the above mentioned symptoms or other side effects of Yaz (Yaz heart palpitations, for example) you should be examined by your doctor quickly.

Some women are more prone to the development of cardiovascular side effects caused by Yaz (Yaz heart attacks are only one of such serious problems). In addition, if you smoke or have a history of the following diseases, it is recommended that you do not take Yaz.  The list includes: strokes or heart attacks, high blood pressure, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, deep vein thrombosis, blood clots in your legs, arms or lungs, high cholesterol level etc. Finally, healthy eating, exercise and avoiding excessive alcohol consumption are also steps that are recommended to minimize the correlation between Yaz heart problems.

Yaz Heart Problems

Yaz has been linked to a number of serious side effects, including heart attack. The two active ingredients in Yaz birth control pills are Drospirenone and Ethinyl Estradiol. Drospirenone (DRSP) is associated with an increased risk of blood clots and heart problems, among other side effects. The risk of heart problems for women taking combined-hormone oral contraceptive pills is higher compared to women who do not, and Yaz should only be prescribed to women with a low risk for Yaz side effects.
